Kooky Copenhagen

I was whisked away on Friday for my birthday to the enchanting city of Copenhagen.
It was out of season for the enigmatic Tivoli Gardens (worlds oldest theme park) and the 'free state' of Christiana was unphotographable but we managed to find a few of the more obscure sights on offer...

Caravan Crush...

To fulfill a long standing need to create my 'room to die in' just like Richard Pryor did in Brewsters Millions, I think it may be have to be in the form of a caravan, so I can whisk those boys away in this summer. Pinterest and Ebay here I come!!!

I've always wanted to design a collection based on the amazing needlework my Grandma used to make back in the 70's.
Her use of colour and texture was amazing.
This is a stunning clutch bag that she made with gold kid leather and silk lined!

I'm making it a late new years resolution to turn this idea into a reality by Christmas!!

Im trying to get inspired for a new collection but its too cold to head out to car boot sales, vintage fairs and even galleries so I've been staying indoors and rummaging through my treasure boxes.
I'm thinking amulets, talismans, charms, keepsakes and folklore...???

My Bearded Designer (aka boyfriend and pops to Wren & Finch) returned from work today with these delicious looking fancies and arms full of flowers! 

Unfortunately for me, looks were deceiving as these babies were stale and the flowers had only days left in them. Fresh (or not so) from the a Cath Kidston shoot he's been working on, they had been under the spotlights for 5 days but looked so wonderful I couldn't bare to bin them!

Its my wonderful grandmas birthday today and although she'd rather forget it, I felt I should pay a little tribute to the lady who taught me many a creative technique. From embroidery, dress making, needle work and aplique to flower arranging, jewellery making, baking and the art of applying ones make up before the husband wakes in a morning!!! 

Thank you for being such an inspiring lady in my life...
